Unique handmade doll clothes

Why do I make doll clothes? It is a combination of an enjoyment of sewing and a couple of decades as a teacher of young children, in New Zealand and a few other countries. I have watched children playing with the clothes I have created for previously naked and ignored dolls. Dressing the dolls provides opportunities for making choices, what to dress the doll in and what personality the doll will have as well as using fine motor skills in the process. Children use the dolls to act out scenarios in their lives, important role play. The clothes I make are sturdy and able to standup to the rigors of play and the necessary laundering.

New this month

April, time to start creating new clothes again that summer has gone from the fair shores of Aotearoa New Zealand.

I have managed to find some pretty rainbow themed cotton fabric so have begun my 'rainbow collection' to counter the toxic attitude of Destiny Church who took it upon themselves to destroy the bright colourful crossing in the town where I live.
